Position Overview:
Join NTNU’s Production Management research group to explore smart logistics and digital technologies in engineer-to-order shipbuilding. You will work on real industrial challenges in the offshore wind sector, analyzing planning, resource allocation, and digital twin applications in Norwegian shipyards such as Ulstein, Brunvoll, and Aker Solutions.

Supply Chain Management
Project Management
Operations Research / Systems Engineering (with relevant logistics focus)
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct qualitative research (case studies, frameworks, literature reviews)
Apply quantitative methods (simulation, analytics) for decision support
Collaborate with Norwegian industrial partners
Participate in the doctoral training program and publish internationally
Engage in applied research supporting the offshore wind and green energy transition
Eligibility Criteria:
Strong academic background (equivalent to a five-year Norwegian master’s degree with B grade or higher)
Experience with simulation, advanced analytics, or systems modeling
Fluency in English (oral and written)
Master’s thesis relevant to industrial/logistics/
manufacturing fields
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in engineer-to-order manufacturing environments
Knowledge of Norwegian or other Scandinavian languages
Industrial or research experience related to shipbuilding or smart manufacturing
