Project Focus:
The PhD student will investigate the mechanistic role of Human Cytomegalovirus (HCMV) in glioblastoma pathogenesis, with an emphasis on its effects on:
Genome integrity
DNA replication & cell cycle regulation
Cell metabolism
The work involves advanced molecular and cell biology techniques, omics technologies, and potential animal model research. The successful candidate will also collaborate with partners at the Karolinska Institute (Sweden) and University of Turku (Finland).
Your Role:
Perform laboratory experiments including molecular biology, proteomics, metabolomics, and microscopy
Contribute to international collaborative research
Present research at conferences and publish in peer-reviewed journals
Help supervise students
Eligibility and Skills:
Master’s degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Cell Biology, or related field
Hands-on experience with common molecular and biochemical lab methods
Advantage: experience with signalling pathways, metabolomics, microscopy, brain cancer, or virology
Excellent communication skills in English
Strong motivation, independence, and teamwork skills
