About the Position
Join Dr. Mara Martin-Alonso’s lab at NTNU to explore how the intestinal epithelium is reprogrammed during tissue repair and inflammation, focusing on conditions like inflammatory bowel disease. The role will combine advanced organoid and in vivo models, RNA-seq, microscopy, flow cytometry, and bioinformatics.
Key Responsibilities
Culture and analysis of intestinal organoids
Conduct mouse model experiments related to intestinal inflammation and tumorigenesis
Apply advanced techniques: histology, microscopy, flow cytometry, RNA-seq, proteomics, qPCR
Perform data analysis, write and publish research, and present findings
Participate in research group activities and international collaborations
Complete PhD coursework and dissertation
Required Qualifications
Master’s degree (or soon to be completed) in molecular medicine, cell biology, biotechnology, or a related field
Academic record equivalent to NTNU’s B grade or better
Experience with mouse models, organoid culture, and general molecular biology techniques
Skills in histology, immunostaining, and microscopy
Strong command of English, both written and spoken
Preferred Qualifications
CAREin or Felasa C certification in mouse handling
Experience with flow cytometry and data analysis tools (e.g., R, Python)
Programming skills for handling large biological datasets
