Gene Regulation and Chromatin Metabolism

 

The newly established Marta Russo Lab in the Physiological Chemistry Department at Biomedical Center Munich (BMC), LMU Munich is hiring for two fully funded positions. The lab is supported by the Emmy Noether Programme (DFG) and focuses on nuclear acyl-CoA metabolism, chromatin regulation, and transcriptional control using cutting-edge omics technologies, proximity labeling, and advanced imaging.

 

 

 

 

1.

Research Technician

 

 

Start: As soon as possible

Deadline: May 15, 2025

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Support molecular biology and biochemical experiments
  • Prepare samples for NGS and MS omics analysis
  • Maintain and manipulate mammalian cell cultures
  • Organize workflows and manage lab inventory

 

 

Qualifications:

 

  • BTA, MTA, CTA or BSc/MSc in Life Sciences
  • Experience in molecular and biochemical techniques
  • English proficiency (German optional)
  • Motivated to grow and contribute to team science

 

 

 

 

 

2.

Computational Postdoctoral Fellow

 

 

Start: Flexible, July–Sept 2025

Deadline: May 15, 2025

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Lead computational research in nuclear metabolism and chromatin regulation
  • Analyze multi-omics datasets (genomics, proteomics, metabolomics)
  • Develop and implement multi-omics data integration pipelines
  • Collaborate with Core Facility Bioinformatics
  • Mentor PhD students

 

 

Qualifications:

 

  • PhD in Bioinformatics, Genomics, Computational Biology or related discipline
  • Expertise in chromatin biology and functional omics preferred
