Project Title:
Catalytic Transformation of Polyols Derived from Sugars for the Synthesis of Iminosugars
Research Focus:
The project targets the development of green catalytic cascade processes to convert sugar-derived polyols into highly valuable iminosugars, using transition metal catalysis. These innovative methods aim to reduce reliance on protecting groups, enhancing both atom economy and sustainability in synthetic chemistry.
Applicant Profile:
- Must hold (or be finishing) a Master’s degree (Master 2, MSc, or MChem) in Chemistry or a related field
- Solid knowledge in Organic Chemistry techniques
- Background in organometallic chemistry is a plus
- Eagerness to work on a multidisciplinary and green chemistry project
