PhD Position in Water Resources – Geopolymer-Based Removal of Pharmaceuticals from Water
Start Date: Fall 2025 | Location: United Arab Emirates University (UAEU)
We are seeking a highly motivated PhD student to join a fully funded research project focused on the removal of pharmaceutically active compounds (PhACs) from water using geopolymers. The position includes full tuition, monthly stipend, and benefits via a research assistantship.
Project Overview:
This research aims to develop and optimize geopolymer materials capable of efficiently adsorbing and removing organic pharmaceutical contaminants from water sources.
Minimum Requirements:
- BSc & MSc GPA: Minimum 3.0 out of 4.0 (or equivalent)
- IELTS: Minimum 6.5
- Basic understanding of organic chemistry and geopolymerization
Preferred Experience:
- Publications or research in geopolymers, PhACs, or organic compound sorption
- Conference presentations or patent contributions (optional but beneficial)
