The Simulation to Flight Applied Research Laboratory (S2FAR) at Oklahoma State University (OSU) is offering 2 fully funded PhD positions starting Fall 2025 under the supervision of Dr. Anthony Comer.

 

Research Areas:

 

  • Aero-propulsion and CFD
  • Rotor-airframe interactions and aeroelasticity
  • Autonomous systems and vehicle autonomy
  • Aircraft/rotorcraft handling qualities and flying qualities
  • Simplified modeling of vehicles, system identification, and control studies

 

 

Benefits:

 

  • $2400/month stipend
  • Full tuition waiver
  • Student health insurance
  • Funded via Graduate Research or Teaching Assistantships

 

 

Requirements:

 

  • BS/MS in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering
  • Strong background in aerospace systems and simulations
  • Skills in MATLAB/Simulink, Python, SolidWorks, and control tools (e.g., QGroundControl)

 

 

Deadlines:

 

  • April 10, 2025: Recommended priority deadline
  • June 10, 2025: Final informal application deadline
