Position: Doctoral Candidate 10 (DC 10) – Developing Novel Control Strategies Ensuring Cybersecurity
Overview:
NTUA, in collaboration with PROTASIS SA, invites applications for a PhD position focused on developing advanced control strategies to enhance cybersecurity in microgrids. This role is part of the IDEAL4GREEN project, aiming to pioneer decentralized energy solutions for global decarbonization targets.
Responsibilities:
- Develop advanced hierarchical control mechanisms for reliable energy distribution within microgrids.
- Formulate resilient strategies enabling microgrids to adapt to disruptions, including cyber-attacks.
- Establish robust cybersecurity protocols to protect microgrid systems from potential threats.
- Implement strategic control techniques considering energy efficiency, load balancing, and renewable energy integration.
Requirements:
- Master’s degree in engineering, energy, electronics, or related fields.
- Excellent academic records.
- Professional experience is valuable.
- Strong multitasking abilities and deadline management.
- Experience in preparing technical reports and presentations.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in English (Level C1-Advanced); knowledge of Greek is advantageous.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as MATLAB, Simulink, C++, Python.
- Familiarity with Real-Time simulation techniques (e.g., RTDS/OPAL RT), ML/AI techniques, control and optimization techniques, and cybersecurity in Operational Technology (OT) networks is highly desirable.
