PhD Opportunity in Stochastic Optimization for Multi-Modal Transportation Systems – Bordeaux, France
A fully funded 3-year PhD position is available at KEDGE Business School (Bordeaux campus), in collaboration with CentraleSupélec, Université Paris-Saclay, starting September 2025.
Research Focus:
This PhD is part of the EU Horizon Europe MODALSHIFT project, aiming to optimize multimodal transport networks and promote sustainable and inclusive mobility. The candidate will develop stochastic and robust optimization techniques integrated with AI-based forecasting for improved decision-making in transportation systems.

- Prof. Jakob Puchinger (CentraleSupélec)
Candidate Profile:
- Master’s in Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, or related fields
- Knowledge in mathematical programming, robust/stochastic optimization
- Programming experience
- Good communication and organizational skills
- Fluent in English
- Knowledge in AI/ML is a plus
