We’re hiring: Postdoctoral Researcher in photoactive thin films for energy conversion
The Thin Films & Interfaces group at Paul Scherrer Institute is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher to join our team. This position focuses on the development of oxynitride thin films for photoelectrocatalytic water splitting, using pulsed laser deposition as the core fabrication technique.
About the Role:
You’ll lead experimental research focused on:
- Fabrication of oxynitride thin films using advanced PLD techniques
- Tuning film composition, crystallographic, and interface properties
- Photoelectrochemical testing for solar water splitting performance
Your Background:
- PhD in Materials Science, Chemistry, Physics, or related field
- Hands-on experience with pulsed laser deposition
- Knowledge of photoelectrochemical characterization techniques
- Familiarity with oxynitrides or related functional materials
- Strong communication skills and a track record of scientific publications
